We’re proud to announce that Envision client artists Anthony Wood, Eunice Jones, and Arnoldo Classen have been accepted to the SWARM Artist Residency, taking place in East Troy, Wisconsin this summer. These talented individuals were selected based on merit and skill, in addition to their commitment to creating art for the community.
The Residency application is open to Chicago-based artists of all disciplines. Induction to the Residency is a significant accomplishment for Envision artists because of the highly competitive nature of the residency. During their five-days in residence, the artists will collaborate with Envision art consultant Monica Neuland in creating community art pieces and immersing themselves in the Chicago-Based artist community.
Our Envision arts will be given the opportunity to cook, walk in the woods, sit around the campfire, and most importantly, create art along. They will exchange ideas, receive feedback and gain inspiration for creativity and honing their talents. The group will also take a box of the Frick Center Horticulture produce to share with their fellow artists!
The SWARM residency experience builds upon Envision’s Arts Studio Program, which cultivates an environment for our clients to create beautiful, rich art pieces, many of which have made it into the homes of patrons and donors across the country.
Not only does will residency experience offer growth in Anthony, Eunice, and Arnoldo’s artistic passions, but they hope for personal growth as well. For many of our clients, an experience like this will be the first time they leave their families for an extended period of time and have an opportunity to gain independence and find identity in their craft.
For those reasons and more, we are truly excited for our artists for their acceptance into the SWARM Residency, and we can’t wait to see the art pieces they create during their stay! Check back to see their projects and hear about their trip in the weeks to come.
